This late 1950s or early 60s shirtwaist dress has lovely floral embroidery front and back. Fabric is crisp, smooth, light-weight cotton in mid-depth pink. This short-sleeved day dress closes at front with seven buttons, plus a hook&eye at the waist, and a tiny button and loop beneath the collar. Thread loops hold the matching belt. Full skirt has triple pleats all the way around. Unlined (you'll likely want to wear a slip or crinoline for modesty), with pinked seams and a very deep hem. From the McGee Trust. So sweet. Condition: very good, with a few minor rust spots (the only major glitch is inside on the upper back lining and not visible -- see composite photo). the belt buckle isn't in the best shape, but it's inconspicuous when worn. here's a reminder to avoid metal and wooden hangers, and always remove dry-cleaning bags and paper! protect those lovely dresses. the hem has been taken up from its original 5"/12.5cm to nearly 8"/20cm. we replaced the missing eye at the waist.
