These Japanese denim jeans are made in Japan and produced by Sugar Cane from Toyo Enterprises. The pattern construction of these jeans is modeled after vintage 501XX jeans from 1947, but these jean pants have been re-designed with the Sugar Cane's brand own detailing, contemporary interpretation and modernize classic-cut for a more casual look and fashion purpose. The beauty of this piece is the balance of classic construction and modern updates from Sugar Cane. Made of a 100% cotton, non-stretch, 14.25 Oz. medium weight Japanese selvage deep blue indigo denim woven with rope dyed indigo yarns in the warp and natural yarns in the weft, that features a unsanforized and unsinged right-hand twill construction without anti-twist process. And then these jeans are pre-washed (one-washed) in the finishing process. Pre washed, minimal shrinkage. With repeated wear and washing, the surface of the denim will have more hairy fibers and the leg will naturally skew in the direction of the twill line for old-fashioned look as vintage jeans. And these jeans are cut to wear as a stylish classic straight fit, button fly, high rise, straight to the leg opening (slightly taper down to the leg opening) and classic five-pocket design. These Sugar Cane classic fitting straight leg jeans feature high-waisted rise and wider-cut (a looser and roomier silhouette but not too baggy) through the seat, hip, thigh, leg opening than regular fit jeans have. These pants are new original creations by Sugar Cane from Toyo Enterprises.

Measure flat across the back waistband from one side to the other with the natural dip. Double the number to get actual waist size.

Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg on the inside seam.

The denim features a rugged, slubby and neppy look that have a rough texture like the denims of vintage workwear. The denim is even tough, yet it remains a natural softness for comfort. Selvedge details ID can be seen along the interior outseam and inside coin pocket opening. Indigo yarn of this denim is dyed using the rope-dyeing technique. The outside of the yarn, which is repeatedly dyed using the indigo rope-dyeing technique, is dyed a deep indigo color, while the core of yarn does not absorb much dye and remains white. And the outside of indigo colored yarn fades through repeated wear and washing and the white core of yarn becomes more prominent. As a result, the high contrast between the faded blue and the white core gives a classic worn-in denim look. And the more you wear, the more denim will fade beautifully.
